The Reference Group has released a report calling for urgent action on responding better to HIV and other harms associated with drug use. The report calls for increased resources for evidence based interventions to prevent the spread of HIV among injectors, an end to compulsory detention of drug users as a form of treatment, The consensus statement was developed at a meeting of the Reference Group that took place in Vienna in March of this year with financial support from the Open Society Institute.
